Package: Autofs Version: 4.1.3+4.1.4beta2-10 After encountering various timeouts and retries using the smbfs to access WinXP shares and reading that smbfs was headed for obsolescence in favor of CIFS, I started using CIFS to access the WinXP shares with much better results. The problem is that I was unable to mount Win9x shares
using CIFS. A dual path is needed in the auto.smb script to detect if the share is on a WFW (i.e. Win9x) or Win2K class (i.e. WinXP) server, then mount using fstype=smbfs or fstype=cifs accordingly. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
