In this case I would suggest reinstalling > apt-eatmydata. There existed numerous guides for using (lib)eatmydata with dpkg and probably you followed one in 2022. The first official upload of this package took place in 2025 and it never changed the LD_LIBRARY_PATH, just shipped a symlink as Chris pointed out: https://salsa.debian.org/debian/apt-eatmydata/-/tree/master/debian?ref_type=heads Cheers, Balint
