That's overly broad at least. As per the upstream announcement - https://www.samba.org/samba/history/samba-4.22.3.html - it only affects setups where the "ad" idmapping backend is in use, which ttbomk is not the default in any version. bookworm's samba version is still perfectly capable of being a member server in an updated domain if other backends are used.
