Alright, this still occurs without cryptsetup-suspend installed. Instead, the system freezes. ________________________________ From: Huey Chen <hueyche...@outlook.com> Sent: Sunday, July 20, 2025 8:27 PM To: Debian Bug Tracking System <sub...@bugs.debian.org> Subject: Bug#1109612: cryptsetup-suspend: Stuck trying to suspend with certain processes running
Package: cryptsetup-suspend Version: 2:2.8.0-1 Severity: grave Justification: causes non-serious data loss X-Debbugs-Cc: hueyche...@outlook.com Dear Maintainer, Some processes, such as running timeshift, rsync, or another I/O intensive process, cause suspending with cryptsetup-suspend to be stuck while attempting to suspend. Even after waiting over 12 hours, the screen will not turn off and cryptsetup-suspend still tries to suspend the system. All I can see is a black background with system messages, one of them stating how the system is suspending, and all I can do is type characters. That forces me to forcibly turn off the system, leading to potential data loss when running the intense process. I expect cryptsetup-suspend to suspend normally in a timely manner, even with such a process still running. Perhaps this is an issue with suspending in general?
