Dear Maintainer, When trying to add a user to a group using mate-user-admin it silently fails. When running the application in console mode it produces this error. (mate-user-admin:77076): group-service-WARNING **: 20:05:12.175: add user to group call failed: GDBus.Error:org.group.admin.Error.Failed: running '/usr/sbin/groupmems' failed: Failed to execute child process “/usr/sbin/groupmems” (No such file or directory) groupmems seems to be offered by the passwd package in bookworm https://packages.debian.org/bookworm/amd64/passwd/filelist but not in trixie https://packages.debian.org/trixie/amd64/passwd/filelist So it could be a passwd bug too, but at least the dependency seems missing. -- System Information: Debian Release: 13.0 APT prefers testing-security APT policy: (500, 'testing-security'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 6.12.33+deb13-amd64 (SMP w/16 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_WARN Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US:en Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages group-service depends on: ii libc6 2.41-9 ii libglib2.0-0t64 2.84.3-1 ii libpolkit-gobject-1-0 126-2 group-service recommends no packages. group-service suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
