Package: devscripts
Version: 2.25.15
Severity: wishlist
Control: affects -1 madison-lite

madison-lite (which I wrote and maintain) and rmadison were both named
after the dak command "madison" before it was very sensibly renamed to
"dak ls" in 2006 (in rmadison's case only a few months before that).
There are two problems with retaining the current naming:

 * It's pretty opaque if you don't remember dak's original naming,
requiring explanations in documentation (which in turn some people
have found to be confusing, e.g. https://bugs.debian.org/622317).

 * The original naming scheme was honestly pretty gross, being
   essentially "attractive famous women"

and it would be good to finish getting rid of it. (I appreciate that
there are some other vestiges of that era, notably "britney".)

I'd like to find a new name for madison-lite, and it would make sense
for that name to be in sync with rmadison. The main obstacle is that I
can't think of a good one. "dak ls" is perfectly fine in that context,
but it's too specific for something like this as neither madison-lite
nor rmadison care whether the archive is managed by dak.
"debian-archive-ls" is cumbersome, and also too specific since e.g.
"rmadison -u ubuntu" is currently backed by madison-lite.

Does anyone have any better ideas?

Thanks,
