Control: retitle -1 unblock: zfs-linux/2.3.2-2 Hi,
After reviewing, we have decided to backport important fix only, as a targeted fix. So here is the new pre-approval unblock request with debdiff attached. [ Reason ] There are two main reasons for this unblock request: 1. Backport some important fixes in upstream 2.3.3 release, especially fix to RC bug #1106035. 2. zfs does not run any autopkgtest on i386 due to no kernel image is availble on that platform (but userspace tools are still useful). So it will be blocked by britney even after the delay. [ Impact ] RC bug would not be fixed and user suffers from potential data corruption. [ Tests ] * zfs has its test suites covering multiple distributions & kernels run on every commit on GitHub CI. * I have run both autopkgtest (smoking tests) and zfs test suites for this backported version, manually on my trixie install. [ Risks ] The debdiff contains only 6 upstream patches: 0001: Fix to RC bug #1106035. 0002: Fix to an integer overflow issue. 0003,0005: Make output of “zfs destroy” more user-friendly. 0004: Remove of old code that might hurt deduplication performance. 0006: Fix to exported symbols for Lustre. Changes are not large, and are all self-described by commit messages. [ Checklist ] [*] all changes are documented in the d/changelog [*] I reviewed all changes and I approve them [*] attach debdiff against the package in testing (please ignore the “UNRELEASED” part, I forgot to change it) unblock zfs-linux/2.3.2-2
