Neither was I. Took me the better part of today until I spotted the difference in the firmware's debug output. I nearly tossed two SD cards.

Doing that just weeks away from the release seems rather risky, esp.
given this package's track records when it comes to regressions (and the
impossibility to cherry-pick fixes).

That's why I suggested an experimental upload. It is not realistic to have this for trixie.
