You might consider it small and targeted, but for me overriding the dpkg
maintainer does not fall into this category. It also puts additional
workload on us to check that no other upload of dpkg for trixie reverts
this change afterwards.

And we are talking about a bug that enough time to be fixed during the
trixie release cycle (and many more release cycles since *2014*). This
change can wait for forky.

Please fix RC bugs, review unblock requests, test the installer, or, ...
instead so that we can release trixie and lift the freeze.
