Package: hyprland
Version: 0.41.2+ds-1.3
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

Hyprland version 0.41.2 exhibits an issue where drag-and-drop
operations cause Chromium-based browsers to become unresponsive. This
problem is consistently reproducible, regardless of the underlying
operating system or hardware configuration.

Detailed reproduction steps and a video demonstrating the issue can be
found in the Hyprland issue tracker:
https://github.com/hyprwm/Hyprland/issues/7496

A patch addressing this specific issue was introduced in Hyprland version 0.43:
https://github.com/hyprwm/Hyprland/commit/00ee1cf98e3d8ef7cf71a9a505ba8d1382697e35

Additionally, there is a related issue reported in the Chromium bug
tracker, as this might also be a Chromium bug that Hyprland's patch
happens to mitigate:
https://issues.chromium.org/issues/411020140

Given the significant impact on user experience and the existence of a
fix upstream, would it be possible to either:
1. Apply the mentioned patch to the current packaged version?
2. Update the Debian package to a newer Hyprland version?

As Hyprland is actively developed and newer versions offer significant
improvements alongside bug fixes, an upgrade to a more recent release
would be ideal.

With eternal gratitude in advance,
zgroza
