(It can regress… if one tried to turn off sound support on the hardware side, to avoid the double beep on the boot screen — which didn't work — then forgot about it. Things are better again after turning it back on.) Dell G3 15 confirmed to still get the firmware-sof-signed package queued up by the modalias-based logic, and sound is functional within GNOME.
