Hi,

The main use would be to backport both to Trixie and Bookworm to get them
proper in-the-field test coverage.

OK, I can see how it could be useful to provide backports.

This package is basically the successor of openvpn-dco-dkms, the old
out-of-tree DCO module only supported with OpenVPN 2.6. They can both
be coinstalled, OpenVPN will use the correct module.

I expect to be able to drop both for the Forky release.

But once you do that, you will not be allowed to update the version in
trixie-backports. So I'm not sure that this plan is going to work.

I plan to do this late in the Forky cycle (shortly before the forky freeze), that should provide plenty of time to fix bugs both in the upstream 6.14+ and in the backports.

I guess in the beginning there will even be merit to provide an updated ovpn module for kernels already including it upstream.
