Hi, GNU Make now has a --shuffle option that simulates non-deterministic ordering of target prerequisites. See https://trofi.github.io/posts/238-new-make-shuffle-mode.html and also previous work in Debian by Santiago Vila: https://people.debian.org/~sanvila/make-shuffle/ This package fails to build with make --shuffle=reverse. This is likely to be caused by a missing dependency in debian/rules or an upstream Makefile. More information about this mass bug filing is available at https://wiki.debian.org/qa.debian.org/FTBFS/Shuffle Relevant part (hopefully): > make[3]: Entering directory '/build/reproducible-path/judy-1.0.5/tool' > Makefile:364: update target 'jhton.o' due to: target does not exist > gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I.. -I. -Wdate-time -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -DJU_64BIT > -g -O2 -Werror=implicit-function-declaration > -ffile-prefix-map=/build/reproducible-path/judy-1.0.5=. > -fstack-protector-strong -fstack-clash-protection -Wformat > -Werror=format-security -fcf-protection -Wall -DJU_64BIT -g -O2 > -Werror=implicit-function-declaration > -ffile-prefix-map=/build/reproducible-path/judy-1.0.5=. > -fstack-protector-strong -fstack-clash-protection -Wformat > -Werror=format-security -fcf-protection -Wall -c -o jhton.o jhton.c > Makefile:342: update target 'jhton' due to: target does not exist > rm -f jhton > /bin/bash ../libtool --tag=CC --mode=link gcc -DJU_64BIT -g -O2 > -Werror=implicit-function-declaration > -ffile-prefix-map=/build/reproducible-path/judy-1.0.5=. > -fstack-protector-strong -fstack-clash-protection -Wformat > -Werror=format-security -fcf-protection -Wall -DJU_64BIT -g -O2 > -Werror=implicit-function-declaration > -ffile-prefix-map=/build/reproducible-path/judy-1.0.5=. > -fstack-protector-strong -fstack-clash-protection -Wformat > -Werror=format-security -fcf-protection -Wall -Wl,-z,relro -Wl,-z,now -o > jhton jhton.o > libtool: link: gcc -DJU_64BIT -g -O2 -Werror=implicit-function-declaration > -ffile-prefix-map=/build/reproducible-path/judy-1.0.5=. > -fstack-protector-strong -fstack-clash-protection -Wformat > -Werror=format-security -fcf-protection -Wall -DJU_64BIT -g -O2 > -Werror=implicit-function-declaration > -ffile-prefix-map=/build/reproducible-path/judy-1.0.5=. > -fstack-protector-strong -fstack-clash-protection -Wformat > -Werror=format-security -fcf-protection -Wall -Wl,-z -Wl,relro -Wl,-z -Wl,now > -o jhton jhton.o > make[3]: Leaving directory '/build/reproducible-path/judy-1.0.5/tool' > Making all in doc > make[3]: Entering directory '/build/reproducible-path/judy-1.0.5/doc' > make[3]: *** No rule to make target 'man/man3/JudyHSFreeArray.3', needed by > 'all-am'.
