Yes, that would've been better indeed.  Even better would've been

 % date --iso-8601=minutes
 2025-05-05T12:30+02:00

(or even "date --iso-8601=ns").

However, migrating a filetraq installation from the old to the new
format would be intrusive.  Therefore I choose not to try to implement
this.  If _you_ would like to craft a patch, and if an upgrade scenario
would be implemented too, than I'm very willing to reconsider.
