Dear Maintainer,

I'm using Synaptic with apt-xapian-index for about 15+ years.

On my systems I usually do the following
```
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install synaptic apt-xapian-index
sudo update-apt-xapian-index
```
to get fully functional Synaptic.

With the current state of the Debian 13 (trixie) packages I can't do the
following things:

* can't install apt-xapian-index package (this was happened due to bug 1100760
);
* can't use Quick filter in the Synaptic (even on the system upgraded from
Debian 12).

Please bring apt-xapian-index package back to upcoming Debian 13 (trixie).

Please patch Synaptic to allow getting info from apt-xapian-index as it was
before.

Quick filter is an important, well used function in synaptic. I intend on picking up maintenance for the orphaned packages apt-xapian-index and libept. Can you please consider reverting the removal of the quick filter function when the two packages are again available in the archive?
