Package: gawk Version: 1:5.2.1-2+b1 Severity: wishlist Tags: upstream X-Debbugs-Cc: nico...@hillegeer.com
Dear Maintainer, Please upgrade this package to at least version 5.2.2 (current version is 5.2.1) so that users can use the strptime function from the built-in (and now undeprecated) time package. See https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/help-gawk/2023-05/msg00002.html for the 5.2.2 release notes. Quote: > Changes from 5.2.1 to 5.2.2 > --------------------------- > > ... > > 6. The time extension is no longer deprecated. The strptime() function > from gawkextlib's timex extension has been added to it. Documentation: https://www.gnu.org/software/gawk/manual/html_node/Extension-Sample-Time.html. This bug would be superseded by bug #1067078 (title: "Please upgrade to 5.3.0 which has CSV support"). I'd prefer that one to be resolved as I also sometimes need CSV support.
