Dear Maintainer, I was having a problem with xflock4 silently taking no action when I executed it from the command line. Looking at the bug reports this is a known issue for the program. Workarounds mentioned include installing screensavers. I installed xfce4-screensaver and now the screen does indeed lock when I execute xf4lock4. However, now after unlocking the screen by pressing a key on the keyboard I am unable to input my password. If I hover the cursor over the password input box the cursor changes to the bar to indicate this is where text goes. But pressing keys does not result in any text being entered. If I kill xfce-screensaver from a virtual terminal the screen becomes unlocked but at that point I am unable to input text into programs that were running prior to the lock operation.
