This was originally packaged for diaspora, which is already removed.

If it is not too much trouble, I would ask to keep it.

FreedomBox has an app that installs and sets up libjs-jsxc to provide a simple web interface to connect to ejabberd (that is also part of FreedomBox). The library is used by providing a simple web page that includes it[1].
