I am forwarding the bug report[1] raised in Ubuntu regarding the changes in the default log format. In Bookworm, the default was the "kernel timestamp on". The timestamp default changed in the upcoming Trixie to the "kernel timestamp off". It would be nice to avoid changing the default in Debian. The kernel timestamp is useful when correlating logs. It allows faster identification of the lines of interest, though it is my opinion. The main driver for raising the issue is keeping the consistent default value for the timestamp.
