Dear Maintainer, *** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate *** * What led up to the situation? The following works as expected: spd-say -o espeak-ng-mbrola -y mb-us1 'Testing testing 1 2 3' The following failes to use default voice: spd-say -o espeak-ng-mbrola 'Testing testing 1 2 3' * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? I tried adding voice configuraiton to /etc/speech-dispatcher/modules/espeak-ng-mbrola.conf VoiceFileDependency "/usr/share/mbrola/$VOICE/$VOICE" VoiceFileDependency "/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/espeak-ng-data/voices/mb/mb-$VOICE" AddVoice "en-us" "FEMALE1" "us1" AddVoice "en-us" "MALE1" "us2" DefaultVoice "us1" * What was the outcome of this action? The above paramters are all ignored. * What outcome did you expect instead? Behavious should be the same as any other such config file, so that a default voice and default language will be used. *** End of the template - remove these template lines *** -- System Information: Debian Release: trixie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 6.12.19-rt-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_WARN Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages speech-dispatcher-espeak-ng depends on: ii libc6 2.41-6 ii libdotconf0 1.4.1-1 ii libespeak-ng1 1.52.0+dfsg-4 ii libglib2.0-0t64 2.84.0-2 ii libltdl7 2.5.4-4 ii libspeechd-module0 0.12.0-2 ii speech-dispatcher 0.12.0-2 speech-dispatcher-espeak-ng recommends no packages. speech-dispatcher-espeak-ng suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
