I'm sorry to hear that Holger. Are you using OVMF_CODE_4M.fd or OVMF_CODE_4M.ms/secboot.fd? The former is expected to work. The latter requires you pass an additional parameter to QEMU. Please read /usr/share/ovmf/NEWS.Debian.gz for details.
