Package: subversion-tools
X-Debbugs-Cc: danny.smi...@gmail.com
Version: 1.14.1-3+deb11u1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?

     Installing the subversion-tools package and using svnperms.py.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

     Executing the svnperms.py hook script

   * What was the outcome of this action?

     The svnperms.py script fails with the following syntax error:

        $ /usr/share/subversion/hook-scripts/svnperms.py
          File "/usr/share/subversion/hook-scripts/svnperms.py", line 140
            raise Error, "group '%s' not found" % token[1:]
                       ^
        SyntaxError: invalid syntax

     The same error occurs with the latest security patch: 1.14.2-4+deb12u1

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

     The script should run without python syntax errors.
