I got a bug filed[1] in Ubuntu saying that the odbc_config tool is missing from the packaging. It seems that's on purpose, because since 2.3.9-1 this tool is even listed in d/not-installed. I checked a bit more history but couldn't find a reason. Incidentally, "make install" installs it just fine in /usr/bin. This is trivial to fix, and I'm happy to provide a patch, but first I would like to check with you if this was indeed on purpose, or just an oversight.
