Yeah, Stefan was talking about bookworm-backports and Xiyue replied
about bookworm-proposed-updates, which was a bit confusing.

We have several tasks here, in order of priority:

1. ensure that this issue (uncovered by bookworm-backports) does not
   mean that plain bookworm->trixie upgrades are broken
2. ensure that the issue does not mean
   bookworm+bookworm-backports->trixie upgrades are broken
3. fix things for current bookworm-backports users.

For now I think Xiyue is just trying to understand the nature of the
breakage more fully so that we can address (1).

Stefan, are you suggesting something that would might fix (2), or were
you thinking of (3)?

Thanks.
