Dear Maintainer,
Most operations that seem to touch any local files fail with an
assertion message; for example `status` or `diff`:
$ brz status
brz: breezy/bzr/_dirstate_helpers_pyx.c:11215:

Aborted
$ brz diff

It seems some operations that don't look at local files work OK; e.g.
`log` or `info`:
