The legacy python bindings are going away with notmuch 0.39, which
will be released soon. I will stop generating the binary package
python3-notmuch with the next upload of notmuch (to experimental).
There is an upstream PR
https://github.com/afewmail/afew/pull/320
that ports afew to the newer bindings (python3-notmuch2 in Debian).
