Just happened this morning but after upgrading package lists within synaptic yesterday my quick filter box is missing.
A manual upgrade of apt-xapian-index reports no errors and systemctl status apt-xapian-index.service also reports no errors but the quick filter box that worked until I updated through synaptic is no longer visible.
