New fun I found out: * Test 1 .dmrc: only session /e/d/locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED] gdm starts in German language, but starting a session cleans out the environment (LANG empty, LC* POSIX) * Test 2 same as above PLUS select in gdm language menu "System Default" same effect as above * Test 3 .dmrc only session /e/d/locale: LANG=en_US.ISO-8859-15 and LANGUAGE=en_US:de_AT:it_IT not select anything in gdm, only log in interestingly gdm starts *again* in German, although LANG=en_US, strange.
