The 202501 version has Plasma 6 and has the autologin issue.
The 202412 version has Plasma 5
Today I've been trying to hunt down the systemd services that might be
the culprit to this issue.
Unfortunately, I haven't been very successful.

I assume that you are referring to the KDE version of SolydXK, since
you mention Plasma 6.
I'm looking at sort-of-equivalent images in Debian [1]:
The KDE image does not have lightdm but sddm instead (which is coming
from task-kde-desktop [2]).
The LXDE image has lightdm but not plasma-workspace, and similar for
the LXQt image.
Each of the three Debian images is tested daily in openQA, and for
each the autologin is working fine.
So you have a new combination of packages.
Have you tried whether the autologin works fine with the default
username/password (user/live), i.e. without the
/etc/live/config.conf.d/solydxk.conf file?
