I cannot reproduce this. But I am using texinfo/info from 4.8. You seem
to be using Debian/stable. I am sure that 4.8-* will not be included
into an update of stable, so your best chance is to install info in
version 4.8.dfsg1-0bpo1 from backports.orig. This should fix your
problem.
