I believe I have found the problem. It says "Warning: Enigmime module not available" and "ERROR: Failed to access Enigmime service!" However, I'm not sure what to do about it.
removing compreg.dat in your profile and restart did not help? Please attach a file list of your install as followed:
find /usr/lib/mozilla-thunderbird /var/lib/mozilla-thunderbird | xargs ls -ld > /tmp/thunderbird.files
OK, since the debian package uses a different profile dir (.mozilla-thunderbird) this should not be a problem. What did you mean by I purged all thunderbird plugins? You refer to the thunderbird install from mozilla.org?
I had thunderbird locally installed and then switched to the deb. When I switched I rm -rf ~/.thunderbird. I've even purged all thunderbird plugins, and then reinstalled them. I also tried purging typeaheadfind and inspector, and having only enigmail installed. Thunderbird should basically consider itself to be brand new. Both typeaheadfind and the inspector work as expected.
what version did you initial start the deb package with?
p.s. please use reply-all to attach your answer to the bug report too!
