Hi.  Thanks for the report.  The error message is:

ethtool_test.go:66: Unable to retrieve stats from any interface of this system.

Loooking at code [1] makes me suspect something rare is happening on
your system, what does a 'sudo ip a' display?

I will try latest upstream version and report this upstream if not
fixed, because I believe it is a upstream problem.
