well, unless you give me some information on how you use sb_filter
through mutt, there's no chance that I'm going to be able to help you. 

I'd venture that sb_filter displays error messages on stderr, but
without the command line options, and an output of what you see, I can't
help you there. And the spambayes user mailing list is a better place to
ask such questions.

Please file a new bugreport, with a proper title. And since I'd have to
forward it to upstream, it would be great if you could submit it
directly to the tracker on sourceforge.
