Package: elpa-emacs-dashboard Version: 1.7.0-3 Severity: normal Tags: upstream
Dear Maintainer, The current Debian version of ‘elpa-emacs-dashboard’ invokes ‘linum-mode’ during startup. That package is obsolete as of Emacs 29.1. Now ‘dashboard-mode’ causes an error: dashboard-mode: Symbol’s function definition is void: linum-mode The solution is to change ‘dashboard-mode’ to stop using that obsolete package, that is no longer provided by default in Emacs. -- System Information: Debian Release: trixie/sid APT prefers stable-security APT policy: (500, 'stable-security'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 6.11.9-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) (ignored: LC_ALL set to en_AU.UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_AU.UTF-8 Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages elpa-emacs-dashboard depends on: ii dh-elpa-helper 2.1.5 ii elpa-page-break-lines 0.14-3 ii emacsen-common 3.0.5 Versions of packages elpa-emacs-dashboard recommends: ii elpa-projectile 2.8.0-2 ii emacs 1:29.4+1-4 ii emacs-pgtk [emacs] 1:29.4+1-4 elpa-emacs-dashboard suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- \ “It's dangerous to be right when the government is wrong.” | `\ —Francois Marie Arouet Voltaire | _o__) | Ben Finney <bign...@debian.org>
