I forgot to say in the bug report that it was an automated bug report,
so I'm a little bit surprised to receive personal replies :-)

After the release of etch I will try to provide patches before raising
the severity to serious, yes, but currently there are too many packages
involved (42) so that I can consider providing patches for all of them.

It's something that certainly has to be done with care.
