It seems unlikely to me (although I am not a member of the X Strike Force) that this will be fixed. The fact that libxft1 is no longer available or installable in Etch should tell you something... What applications do you have that use libxft1? You may want to request that they be recompiled to use the modern libxft2 package instead. best regards, -- Kevin B.
