There is nothing to consider here really. We simply cannot enable smb-

To enable it, we need updated versions of KDSoap & kdsoap-ws-discovery-
client. As long as they are not available in Debian, we cannot enable
smb-support.
So if you really want smb, please help updating those 2 libraries.
Hi, I had a look at both and I can see that KDSoap hasn't been updated
in a long time and that now it split part off into a separate library
(which would need to be packaged first). I'll happily submit a MR to the
maintainer of KDSoap and package the dependency (with a sponsor).
However, I'm confused about kdsoap-ws-discovery-client as it seems to be
part of KDE. Shouldn't that be packaged only by the KDE team?
If KDSoap is available, would the KDE team then include
kdsoap-ws-discovery-client, or would it also need to be packaged outside
the KDE team?
