Besides trying to avoid duplication, the main reason why we exclude the cache/ directory from the upstream tarball is (quoting from debian/copyright in our source package): | Files-Excluded: lib/JSON/Validator/cache | Comment: The +dfsg version is created by removing the cache files from the | lib/JSON/Validator directory, where the license is unknown.
