I have migrated the package to the Debian team in Salsa[1] and modernised the packaging. After discussing the symbols issue наб suggested to remove the symbols file which I documented in README.source[1]. Please let me know if you are OK with this. If I do not hear from you after 21 days I will upload the package as is as a team upload of Debian team. Kind regards Andreas.
