Package: avahi-daemon Followup-For: Bug #1077937 X-Debbugs-Cc: Luca Boccassi <bl...@debian.org>, Michael Biebl <bi...@debian.org>, Simon McVittie <s...@debian.org>
Hello Before appealing to the CTTE, I see that the MulticastDNS= option of resolved has a "resolve" option since 234. When setting that option it seems that both avahi and resolved continue to complain about the double stack but avahi stops printing errors in loop about "Host name conflict". Looking at the code, it seems that both avahi and resolved set "SO_REUSEADDR" on the socket explicitly "for the case that the user really wants multiple mDNS responders", but I'm not sure whether this has other impact. I see that both avahi and resolved are listening on the port 5353/udp. Has anybody better understanding on this? In anycase, this is a "serious" bug to me as it NEEDS to be fixed before the release by either avahi or resolved. @Lucas, would it be OK for you to set "MulticastDNS=" to "resolve" if it's not causing other issues? Otherwise we indded need to turn to the ctte Kind regards, Laurent Bigonville -- System Information: Debian Release: trixie/sid APT prefers unstable-debug APT policy: (500, 'unstable-debug'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental-debug'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 6.12.6-amd64 (SMP w/12 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=fr_BE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_BE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=fr_BE:fr Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages avahi-daemon depends on: ii adduser 3.137 ii dbus [default-dbus-system-bus] 1.16.0-1 ii libavahi-common3 0.8-15 ii libavahi-core7 0.8-15 ii libc6 2.40-4 ii libcap2 1:2.66-5+b1 ii libdaemon0 0.14-7.1+b2 ii libdbus-1-3 1.16.0-1 ii libexpat1 2.6.4-1 Versions of packages avahi-daemon recommends: ii libnss-mdns 0.15.1-4+b1 Versions of packages avahi-daemon suggests: ii avahi-autoipd 0.8-15 -- no debconf information
