Package: lvm2 Version: 2.03.11-2.1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
On Debian 11 and 12, VMware virtual machines sometimes fail to boot because one the Logical Volume is not activated. This happens randomly and it's not reproducible. When Deian is stuck on the recovery boot, it is possible to manually activate the failed LV. The only notable configuration is the use of the "disk.EnableUUID" property on the virtual machines. Every time this happens there is a "Skipping checks for old devices without LVM- dm uuid prefix (kernel vsn 5 >= 3)" message. See example below. there are two LVs: "vg0/sys" and "vg0/home" on the same PV and "vg0/home" is not activated resulting in a stuck boot.
