Package: valgrind Version: 1:3.19.0-1 Severity: minor X-Debbugs-Cc: debian-bugrep...@tmpmail2013.wamser.eu
Dear Maintainer, * What led up to the situation? Followed instruction from the internet. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? Tried to run `valgrind --tool=exp-sgcheck` * What was the outcome of this action? Valgrind failed to start the tool * What outcome did you expect instead? Valgrind launches the tool It seems SGCheck was last included in buster and has since been droppen from the valgrind package (other distros have also dropped this tool). The package description should be updated to no longer advertise this experimental feature. -- System Information: Debian Release: 12.1 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable-security'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 6.1.0-12-686-pae (SMP w/6 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_OOT_MODULE, TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages valgrind depends on: ii libc6 2.36-9+deb12u9 ii libc6-dbg 2.36-9+deb12u9 Versions of packages valgrind recommends: ii gdb 13.1-3 ii valgrind-dbg 1:3.19.0-1 Versions of packages valgrind suggests: pn alleyoop <none> pn kcachegrind <none> pn valgrind-mpi <none> pn valkyrie <none> -- no debconf information
