Package: debhelper Version: 5.0.35 Severity: wishlist The dpatch(1) seems to be simple and easily supported from the debian/rules file. However the documentation to make use of it is almost non-existent. This could be improved if the default template contained following lines before the 'CFLAGS' statement:
# NOTE: If you use dpatch(1), you moight want to use make targets # 'patch' and 'unpatch' that are available by unncommenting: # include /usr/share/dpatch/dpatch.make -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Kernel: Linux 2.6.16-2-686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ISO-8859-1) (ignored: LC_ALL set to en_US) Versions of packages debhelper depends on: ii binutils 2.16.1cvs20060413-1 The GNU assembler, linker and bina ii coreutils [fileutils 5.96-3 The GNU core utilities ii dpkg-dev 1.13.21 package building tools for Debian ii file 4.17-1 Determines file type using "magic" ii html2text 1.3.2a-3 An advanced HTML to text converter ii perl 5.8.8-5 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction ii po-debconf 1.0.2 manage translated Debconf template debhelper recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
