Until 2024, nPth didn't have new releases since 2018. In February 2024, 1.7 was released. And then, 1.8 was released in November 2024. The changes in 1.7 and 1.8 are mainly for Windows and other operating systems. So, for Debian GNU/Linux itself, it would be OK that we still keep using version 1.6. Nevertheless, on Debian, we have the libnpth-mingw-w64-dev package, for installer on Windows (which uses gpgv.exe). For this (minor) case, it would be good to have newer version. Well, the release keys of GnuPG team have been updated. For this, I created a merge request for nPth package on Salsa. If needed, I will help packaging nPth for Debian. Please feel free for ask any help. --
