I just got a patch today that wants to move the openssl_tpm2_engine to using a newer form of the martial functions that were introduced in v1331 and thus aren't in the version packaged by Debian. The trigger is that the older forms are deprecated and can now be compiled out for newer versions of the IBM TSS. I can update the configure.ac script to work around this at the expense of a large amount of glue code, but I'd really rather deprecate older versions of the IBM TSS. Debian seems to be the only distribution packaging such an old version so if you could move forwards it would be enormously helpful.
