However these are two different topics. I'll clone the bug for silencing the utmp-absent case. Just to spell it out explicitly, wtmpdb is a permanent history store. In contrast, /run/utmp, previously keeping track of *currently* logged in sessions, is thus not replaced by wtmpdb and the closest replacement are logind sessions. I don't know if it makes sense for libutempter to register sessions with logind; but nevertheless, logging errors for /run/utmp missing should please be stopped.
