Package: akonadi-server Version: 4:22.12.3-1+b4 Severity: normal It's not uncommon to have IPv6 networking issues when IPv4 works correctly.
If a server has both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses for the DNS name of the IMAP server then Akonadi seems to ALWAYS try the IPv6 address first and then not receive mail if IPv6 isn't working. I can't retrieve mail from my own mail server (which has IPv4 and IPv6 addresses) if the Wifi network has broken routing for IPv6 - IE it gives my laptop an IPv6 address but doesn't route data for it. I presume that the same problem would apply if using imap.gmail.com which also has IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. The problem I see is that it just doesn't retrieve mail, doesn't display any error messages, and is generally confusing for a user who doesn't run tcpdump. -- System Information: Debian Release: trixie/sid Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 6.11.4-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_WARN Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_AU:en Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: unable to detect Versions of packages akonadi-server depends on: ii akonadi-backend-mysql 4:22.12.3-1 ii libaccounts-qt5-1 1.17-4+b1 ii libc6 2.40-3 ii libgcc-s1 14.2.0-8 ii libkf5akonadiprivate5abi2 [libkf5akonadiprivate5-22.12] 4:22.12.3-1+b4 ii libkf5akonadiwidgets5abi1 [libkf5akonadiwidgets5-22.12] 4:22.12.3-1+b4 ii libkf5configcore5 5.115.0-2+b1 ii libkf5coreaddons5 5.115.0-2+b1 ii libkf5crash5 5.115.0-2+b1 ii libkf5i18n5 5.115.1-2+b3 ii libqt5core5t64 5.15.15+dfsg-2 ii libqt5dbus5t64 5.15.15+dfsg-2 ii libqt5gui5t64 5.15.15+dfsg-2 ii libqt5network5t64 5.15.15+dfsg-2 ii libqt5sql5t64 5.15.15+dfsg-2 ii libqt5widgets5t64 5.15.15+dfsg-2 ii libqt5xml5t64 5.15.15+dfsg-2 ii libstdc++6 14.2.0-8 akonadi-server recommends no packages.
