Package: fop Version: 1:2.10+dfsg-1 Severity: normal I have an XSL-FO file (actually, many such files) using FreeSerif. (I've attached an example to this report.) This XSL-FO file doesn't use italics at all.
If I have `fonts-freefont-ttf` but _not_ `fonts-freefont-otf` installed then the body text renders as roman (that is, not italic). However, if I have the latter installed, the body text is italic. Obviously, this is unwanted, since the real body text is supposed to be in roman text. Note that if the XSL-FO file _does_ contain italics, the text is also in italics then, too. It's unclear to me whether this is a bug in FOP or elsewhere, so please feel free to reassign if need be. Also, if you need additional example XSL-FO files or toolchain commands to generate them, please let me know. -- System Information: Debian Release: trixie/sid APT prefers oldstable-security APT policy: (500, 'oldstable-security'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 6.10.12-amd64 (SMP w/20 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_USER, TAINT_WARN Locale: LANG=en_CA.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_CA.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_CA:en Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages fop depends on: ii default-jre-headless [java2-runtime-headless] 2:1.21-76 ii libfop-java 1:2.10+dfsg-1 ii openjdk-11-jre-headless [java2-runtime-headless] 11.0.25+9-1 ii openjdk-17-jre-headless [java2-runtime-headless] 17.0.13+11-2 ii openjdk-21-jre-headless [java2-runtime-headless] 21.0.5+11-1 Versions of packages fop recommends: ii libsaxon-java 1:6.5.5-13 Versions of packages fop suggests: pn fop-doc <none> -- no debconf information -- brian m. carlson (they/them or he/him) Toronto, Ontario, CA
