Given the recent CVE-2024-51774 (that was fixed upstream in 5.0.1), trackers are beginning to require 5.x. Regardless of what happens with bookworm updates*, it would be helpful to have 5.0.1-1~bpo12+1 uploaded to backports. If you're not interested in doing it, I can give it a shot.
