You are right, I´ve used GUI packeth in my classes on an Ubuntu distribution version (22.x) at a computer lab University.
Anyway, I think different packages for packeth, like you suggest (`packeth` and `packeth-gui`), will be a great solution.
The GUI is a great tool in order to create frames from scratch during computer networks classes.
